When considering price, I find it hard to compete with this wine. The new entrance of @Anthony Biagi ‘s Patria is around the only wine I think of. These are beautiful Napa Cabs. Beautiful. Floral. Rich. This one is still slightly tannic and pulls at the mouth but o can imagine it a few years from now approaching the 10s or other years that mellowed out. I could drink @Sean Capiaux ‘s wines every day. — 6 years ago

A limited-production Cabernet Sauvignon crafted by Tony Biagi (Winemaker of the Year, 2020), sourced from the iconic Oakville Ranch. This special collaboration highlights one of Napa Valley’s most revered hillside sites, known for power, elevation, and depth. A serious, terroir-driven Napa Cab with precision and restraint.

Aromas & Flavors
Layered and compelling from the start: blackcurrant, dark cherry, graphite, crushed violets, cedar, and subtle baking spice. As the wine opens, notes of cassis liqueur, cocoa powder, and savory herbs emerge, adding complexity and dimension.

Mouthfeel
Full-bodied yet beautifully balanced. Structured tannins with a polished, velvety texture. After ~60 minutes of decanting, the wine gains lift and cohesion, climbing steadily in aromatic intensity and textural finesse. Long, refined finish with remarkable persistence.

Food Pairings
Ideal with dry-aged ribeye, lamb rack, grilled prime cuts, or mushroom-forward dishes. Also excellent with aged hard cheeses.

Ever since we did a tasting with @Anthony Biagi i find this hard not to drink - even young. What a difference Tony has made for Hourglass as well as his own line of Patria. I probably drink his wines 1 out of every 3 or 4 bottles I have. This is a rich, opulent wine and was WOTN when we did our hourglass virtual tasting. — 6 years ago

Awaiting correction, but this is the Blueline Estate, Ambassador Cuvée. Not familiar with this and no info on the website. Hoping @Anthony Biagi can shed some light. 240 bottles produced, so initially thought a single barrel wine. Hmm.. no Varietal listed, so now thinking a blend. Gave this four hours of air on Christmas Eve. Shy on the nose to start, but smooth and elegant with blackberry. Merlot? Nose is more open on night two. Cab Franc? Some menthol sneaking in on the nose as well. Whatever composition of a Bdx blend it is, it is a treat to drink and putting a positive note on the 2011 vintage. — 9 years ago

My first time trying this, and it is really terrific and a great value at the price point. Very full and complete on the palate. Lovely blueberry and blackberry fruit on the palate with a hint of baking spices and vanilla. I would definitely buy this again. Kudos @Anthony Biagi ! — 9 years ago
