Magnum. Single vineyard from the Bussia Cru of Monforte d’Alba.
This is so much different than the Brandini single vineyard from La Morra. Much more powerful with still firm tannic structure. Shows more dark fruits, with fig jam, leather, cedar and licorice.

Not sure what to say about this one. I’m a huge fan of Beni di Batasiolo and picked this bottle and a bunch of different options when visiting the winery last September. The other bottles they had were young but opened up after a couple hours. This 2010 Brunate was dense with leathery tannins from opening and remained for a couple days. The dark cherry aroma could be detected across the room and could be tasted along with some fig and earth within a few hours, but the tannins were a bit overwhelming for the 3 days. Going to wait for some dust to collect on the other bottles of this. — 6 years ago
