Côtes du Rhône White Rhone Blend 2019

Nose is definitely peachy and apple. Taste is a touch green, very dry, and bitter. There’s hints of what you smell in there somewhere too. — 5 years ago

Volnay Pinot Noir

Les Folatières Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay 2016

Still very pale and not evolved. The rich material and high acidities have not converged yet. The fruit here is not as pristine as those from the likes of Fichet and Montille. — 6 years ago

More fruit showing than either of the last 2 vintages I have tried. It’s like drinking liquid fall. Solid bottle. — 8 years ago

Les Riottes Pommard Pinot Noir 2010

Not fully in the zone yet but drinking very well nonetheless. Licorice and balsamic notes on the nose, almost Nebbiolo like. Full flavored, with secondary layers emerging. — 10 years ago

Les Brouillards Volnay 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2008

Beautiful wine suffused with sour cherry, black raspberry, apple wood, moss, all well blended. Bright with tannins and can age but was still delicious -- perfect for Christmas Eve dinner. Perhaps the best wine I had this year. — 11 years ago

Réserve De Bonpas Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2015

Dark cherry and a touch of Brett on the nose. Red berry and black fruit flavors with notes of earth, licorice and spices. Relatively light bodied with roaring acidity. There is a sour note on the very long finish that does lessen with some aeration. — 5 years ago

Grande Réserve Côtes du Rhône Villages Red Rhone Blend

Might have been a bit beyond optimal drinking age but still lovely floral bouquet and dried fruits and leather notes. Lingering smooth finish. Father-in-law shared it after aging for 15 years. — 6 years ago

Crozes-Hermitage Syrah

Took a moment to open up. Then ran through a gamut of fruit (primarily prune), then faded to more smoky and full. Good entry, good middle, but a short finish. — 9 years ago

@Dan White about 75 usually but a friend sold me a few for closer to 50. I think they are worth the money. The Bourgogne rouge can be found for about 30 I think
