Quite “grapey.” Very short, but peppery finish, light bodied with little complexity. Drinkable basic red wine. The “Zero Sugar” marketing ploy is interesting. Flavors of dark cherry, blackberry and bramble berry fruit, black licorice, tobacco and mushrooms. Hints of minerals and baking spices on the long finish. Mouth watering acidity. Third vintage of this Chianti I have tasted over the years. Blend of Sangiovese (90%) and Canaiolo (10%). Aromas of red and black fruit, sweet and savory spices and leather. Flavors of raspberry and blueberry fruit, exotic spices, tomato leaf and vanilla. Medium length earthy/mineral driven finish. Low acidity and slightly off balance.
