Oy yoy yoy! What a wine! Sometimes I find Amarones a bit thick and syrupy. This is anything but. Rich, yet totally disciplined and discernibly structured without a trace of the generic thickness that can sometimes afflict more fruit forward wines. Medium bodied but complex. Earthy and leathery when it first hits the palette, with rich flavours developing and unfolding slowly. Finishes smoothly with very balanced tannins.
