More new oak than the Columbia Syrah. Tighter as well. Blackberries, dark cherries, black raspberries, black plum and blue fruit notes, loads of spice & baking spices, caramel & dark decayed florals. It's a little hot on alcohol for me. Finishes dry and edgier than their softer Columbia Valley Syrah. Like them both the same for their very different Syrah styles. In the mouth its meatiness and freshness thanks to the successful balance between tannin and acidity, revealing a taste flooding fruity palate sensations of blackberry and forest fruits.
