2001: Sweet spot. In that middle twilight area, where there is still a depth of sweet fruit, yet moving into a mature status. Roasted beets, soy, and meaty - a blindfold test would suggest a lush Cote Rotie. Really showing beautifully now, yet will continue to match glycerin to fading fruit as aging continues. You would have no idea if you tasted this blindfold it was from CA - this is Old World Northern Rhone Syrah. Good acidity, tannins, and fruit. Love wine from this producer! — 5 years ago
