Just outside Barcelona, Catalan country - Denominació d'Origen Montsant. Grenache/Carignan blend. This was a bottle shop recommendation - trying to find something dry. Thought I’d go with it. Very dark with a purple hue, deep dark raspberry, with dark cherry and blueberry hints, earthy, mild spice, ripe but savoury with focused fruit, grunty tannin and tending-to dry finish. 10€, great value. Trying to avoid rioja at the moment, and this did the job nicely. — 7 years ago
