First of the 8 Castello di Ama chiantis served at the CdA dinner in NYC; one of my 3 favorites as well - well rounded, no excess acidity or tannins — a year ago
Gosh darn it! This is just delicious — 10 years ago
Considered the star of the CdA lineup, and similar to their chiantis which all have some Merlot blended in, but this was too much Merlot for me - had that plasticity I don’t love — a year ago
The 2016 is sweeter than the 2017 Albarino. Was with Pegy at Castaway Cellars, CdA. — 6 years ago
Had it for our 12th anniversary at the Cellar in CDA, ID. — 11 years ago
This is the La Casuccia CdA which wasn’t in the Delectable lineup - my third favorite of the CdA dinner - see the Montebuoni and Bellavista notes. Note that we also tasted the ‘07 La Casuccia but didn’t love it - actually seemed to have some funk to it — a year ago
Second Chianti at the CdA dinner, and the most aged, but I didn’t love it - overly tannic, too much edge on it — a year ago

Finally got around to ordering some Castello di Ama more than a year after the tasting - and pleased to report the Montebuoni is exactly what I recorded - stellar Chianti despite being at the low end of the CDA lineup. Gorgeous nose that continues to an earth-free, acidic-free palate. Best savored before food - turned quite sparkly with a pesto sauce. Great sipping wine. — 21 days ago
