Just look at this stunning thing. Gorgeous. That electric, deep red color with a little effusive perlage. From opening to finishing it off, you will continue to appreciate this hue. It’s so lovely. The nose is so alive and vibrant instantly. Blood orange straight out of the gate with ripe cherries for accompaniment. Butterscotch and licorice for days. There’s some really intriguing floral notes going on here, as well. One of the most distinct noses I can remember.
This is a powerhouse vinous wine that delivers on its promise. It’s an intense pure Pinot Noir champagne and the Saignée method just adds to the experience. Very Burgundian throughout, there’s a nice level of refinement and elegance here despite the electric nature. The acidity is well placed and sharp. Disgorged in November of 2019, with no dosage.
Erotically charged in the mouth, this continues to blow you away. Just the mere suggestion of spice initially on the attack. Those bright, sexy red fruits soon take over however. Juicy strawberries and bright cherries. Such a long, lusty brilliant finish that honestly leaves you wanting just one more drop. Single vineyard, single year and tiny production. All adds up to distinct excellence. — 4 years ago

Here’s to all of the strong, brave, inspiring women from all ends and angles of the industry. 🥂🥂 You contribute to and enrich the world of wine.
We’re celebrating International Women’s Day with a beautiful bottle of rosé bubbles from @domainecarneros, where Eileen Crane, a pioneer, innovator, and intrepid leader, spent 33 years as CEO and head winemaker, having just retired last year.
Thank you, Eileen Crane, for your example of strength, ingenuity, humanity, and commitment to your craft. I’m excited for the deliciousness that lies ahead with incoming CEO Remi Cohen and her team. We’re looking forward to visiting the Domaine Carneros Château next month. 😆

Nose has under-ripe pineapple, cut yellow apple, yellow raspberry, faint herbal notes and wet, crushed rock.
Palate has saline apple juice, mashed yellow raspberry, dried lemon pith and moist garden soil. Solid acidity and a long finish, fun wine.
An interesting relative to Chardonnay, our first time ever with this grape. One more box checked on the lifetime experience of wine enjoyment and palate training. — 6 years ago

@Delectable Wine This is a VDF from the Moselle in France. Winemaker is Remi Gauthier. This is 100% Pinot Noir. Slamming nose. Cherry cola, big big cherries, licorice, mineral and even ripe strawberry. Super aromatic and wonderful. Unique as well. So juicy and ripen with ample lip smacking mid season cherry fruit and wonderful acidity and freshness. Terrific purity and freshness. Impressive length and so so well made. — 8 years ago

A little thin. Reminiscent of that one Bichi rose. — 3 years ago
2017 base (25% reserve wines), degorged January 2020. 2020/12/26-27 with Christmas leftovers, hard boiled eggs with cheese sauce, ebi and hotate fry. Deep gold, starts with a little apple cider but opens to spiced apple turnovers and custard - gives a sense richness while being totally dry. — 5 years ago

Clos du Mesnil is a 1.84-hectare vineyard in Grand Cru village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger surrounded by the walls. Its location and microclimate define a distinct terroir for Chardonnay which is renowned in Champagne as much as Montrachet in Burgundy.
This precious CdM'82 I shared with my champagne fellows on the eve of COVID-19 crisis. Memories that CdM definitely imprints in our minds and deep emotions which stay forever.
Perfectly aged multilayered wine with a complex tertiary bouquet to die for. Roasted nuts, honey, chalkiness and underlying pronounced acidity. So joyful!
Solo in Remi Krug terms, but the power of its voice equals to the orchestra. — 6 years ago
First candle lit dinner with Remi. JB and Ali got her down while Ali artfully cut and ate her steak with one hand. Also, the grill caught on fire, but JB saved the steaks at the perfect level of char. The spinach was delicious, and the dirt that Ali left on it from the farmers market will help tremendously with digestion. — 7 years ago
Juicyyy! Some great barn-y beginnings with a dark fruit center. Some savory herbs in there, and a lil fizz action too. — 8 years ago
