One of my favorite wines we get almost nothing of. Pure class in 23. Gorgeous, floral aromas, black cherry, hint of reduction, limestone galore. The palate is young but with extraordinary fruit. Pure. Zero hard edges and really energetic. Acid is on point. Such sweet fruit developing with air. So sappy and dense. Unreal. Wow. Nose now confectionary blackberry and black raspberry. Fun Dip powders. And the stick kind of. Palate gets elegant with such fruit authority. Unbelievably delicious. But has a decade plus and will benefit greatly. — 4 days ago

They blended all the Roussanne into this super cuvée as it was a difficult vintage. But man is this wine not difficult. It’s freaking outrageous. Honeycomb, melon, exotic cardamom and clove spices. Just knockout aromas. Palate is top .01% finesse. Just the best. No one makes Roussanne like Gilles. Juicy, nimble and dense with that classic bitter backend. Just so pure. Great wine. — 12 days ago

Fantastic bottle of Macon. Mineral as all can be with real density, sap, weight and precision. Compelling. Nose is meyer lemon and so saline. Palate has uncanny finesse. Outrageous fruit and concentration. So dense and fine. Terrific on day 2. Rounded, but still has that piercing minerality and density. Long, tangy finish and the nose has a honeyed quality along wirh an intense mineral/floral thing. — 5 days ago

Super floral, lifted, black cherry aromas that jump out of the glass. Earthy, gamey aromas as well. So aromatic. 9.6 nose. Stoney as Pommard can be. Unreal palate. So ungodly delicious. Stunning inner mouth aromas and just awesome sweet red cherry fruit. Tiny berry fruit intensity. Unreal mineral sheath. All stony. So Pommard but also so Rebourgeon. So complex. The king is back. Exquisitely mineral nose. Pommard stoniness. Florals like crazy. Unreal spice. Exotic perfume. But the palate is the star of the show. Absolutely mind bending. Juicy, nimble, so refined and pure. Huge concentration and lush. It’s tight and spicy now but man is this just an incredible bottle of Pommard. Very age worthy. So elegant and still holding its Pommard frame. Just awesome. Let’s see what air does. On day 2 this has a glorious mid palate but of opulence. Nose is so mineral. Floral/mineral. Unreal fruit soak on the palate and extraordinary tannins. — 8 days ago
