This showed nicely. Surprise of the show. Value of the show at $120 from the winery. A Paul Hobbs made wine.

Also if you read my posts, you may know that I am not the biggest fan of Sauvignon Blanc. I did try theirs and it was pretty good. Especially at $32 winery price. It was round, viscous and beautifully balanced with an elegant finish.

Eigentlich als Absacker gedacht bei so nem alten Wein, Erwartung war sehr pessimistisch. War sehr überrascht über die volle Würze und Reife, welche sofort in den Mund knallt. Licorice and cookie spice on the nose. Prominent fruit up front, blackberry, with a long finish. Would imagine that this should age well, if you have the patience and discipline. — 9 years ago

Easy going merlot blend. black cherry, spice, espresso, and some green notes that aren’t overpowering. Smooth finish. 2 hrs in the decanter opens it up. B cellars really did a great job in 2016. The single vineyard cab series got great wine advocate scores yesterday: oakville 98, star 98+, ehrlich 97. That’s the tier below the beckstoffer wines from b cellars. — 8 years ago

Probably my favorite oakville so far. Usually the beckstoffers are a clear notch above, but this has shortened the gap. Not as red fruited as before. Turns out it is a new vineyard : oakville 88 with a little ehrlich. Nice complexity.

This really impressed on pop n pour. Dark balanced fruit with a touch bell pepper from the cab franc. I preferred it over the b cellars on opening, but the b cellars ehrlich jumped ahead with air. — 8 years ago

This is the st. Helena (lewelling vineyard). Not as opulent as the ehrlich single vineyard. Dark fruit with a touch of licorice. Very smooth. Table guests actually thought the macauley pinot was more tannic and not as integrated. — 9 years ago
