Lover of: all things light, minerally, & red; in search of the perfect Chenin blanc, cru Beaujolais, mountain Nebbiolo, & varietals unknown.
Really interesting Chard from Germany. Quite lean & echoes of Chablis. Really dug. — 25 days ago
All about texture & ripe alpine scents & white flowers — a month ago
Feels like a shy Burgundy that needs more time in bottle or serious decant. — a month ago
Funny how sometimes I’m guilty of thinking “ letting the Brett blow off” to taste the main event. Here the development in the glass is the main event, which includes quite a bit of funk when first opening up. That the evolution includes wild blackberries & cassis, & the funk adds to the overall impression of something feral getting tamed, is all part of the fun. Fine grained & can be drunk young, but curious how it would fare in 8-10 years ( imagine a much more smoothed out development & sweetness). — 25 days ago
What first hits is the texture— substantial & chewy; but the nose too comes at you & is full of quince, white flowers, cooked leek. The nose gets echoed on the palate, which is deep & long, with more savory notes of baked apple, & yellow fruit skins. Really a marvel, & I regret I didn’t have more than my leftover measly bottle. Truly marvelous & nothing Bourgogne about it, Fer sure. — a month ago
Nicely savory, crisp Provence white, er, rose wine. Beautiful light tangerine color. — 20 days ago
Vinho verde, not your grandmothers… which is to say biggish body, thicker viscosity, green & ripening white fruits. Enticing & serious. And for less than 17$. Savio Soares. — a month ago
More I drink more I love. Such salty goodness. Peach skin, lime zest. — a month ago
