N: does not make me regret my decision every time I take a drink. Briefly feels like marines army crawling down my throat but then they hit a river. Mostly pleasant. Tastes like the skin of a white grape. Appealing but not really. Still wine but underperforms my sadness gauge. 9.6
J: light and a bit tart. Not overly dry. Very smooth on the tongue. Light white grape and citrus flavors. 9.4 — 5 years ago

The 2015 is drinking better after some additional time in bottle. Since I recently opened some Meo-Camuzet Burgundies, I wanted to compare while they were fresh in my mind. This wine reminds me of a New World version of Meo’s village Nuit-St-George. It’s slightly riper in some ways, simpler in structure, and doesn’t have much of that Old World tangy/sour/mineral finish. Cost is sorta close (Meo a little more in most markets), so for me the Meo wins by a SLIGHT margin, but this is oh-so-close. The N-J will likely be preferred by most American palettes. — 7 years ago
2007 DRC Montrachet. Dinner at N Mal w J&D B. First time K and I had tried this wine. So excellent. — 8 years ago
Delicious with Pat’s steak — 2 months ago
A high-acid, mouth-puckering assault on the palate. Tightly wound even with a decant, I can’t imagine this on a pop n pour. Layers of mineral & tart fruit; hint of petrol comes almost as a respite from the onslaught. Ok maybe I’m slightly exaggerating. Cool wine. — 5 years ago

J: smells like warm honey. Tastes sweet with hints of green apple and maybe lemon? Overall love it! 9.5
N: it smells like syrup that you left on hot asphalt for half a day. If I had to describe the smell I’d say it was fungal. Like sweet but dangerous. Smell wise not it. Tastes like bad fruit juice -which is better than most good wines. 9.0 — 3 years ago
N: tastes like the leaves of a strawberry with a hint of medicine. Feels like freshly mowed grass in the nose. Texture feels like vodka (very dense but clear alcohol, almost evaporates while you drink it). Smells like inside of a mini van for a mom with 7 kids but she makes them all vegan. 9.4
J: light fruity aromatics, fruity not overly dry, hints of berries. 9.0 — 5 years ago

2008 PY Colin Moret Montrachet. Drank at N Mal w J&D B. Interesting to drink this alongside the ‘07 DRC Montrachet. People had a hard time picking a fave. — 8 years ago

Very central coast Syrah in character.
N: lovely herbs. Sagebrush. Thyme. Pointed lilacs.
P: fine but pronounced tannins. Cranberry. Early season cherry. So crunchy.
Super super young. But a beautiful wine. A wine of terroir.
Laser-like.
Could be a brilliant wine in 5-7 years. — 5 days ago
