Paired well with fresh pappardelle on brown butter sauce with sage garlic and shallots and a medley of chanterelle mushrooms — 4 years ago
Very much a dinner wine. Had with foie grad and halibut with root vegetable and chanterelle mushroom.. Also with duck breast. Nice fruit but not fruity. — 8 years ago

Had this one before a couple of years ago, and got a bit disappointed. But this vintage has really improved. Lovely with a great deal of complexity. Green apples, chalk, gun powder, salty crackers, chanterelle. Good champagne is indeed one of the wines that really thrives at this age. What a pleasant surprise from this great house. — 4 years ago
Meaty as raw flank steak, but with rose petal, soft strawberry, and albumin. Dusty cola, if that is a thing; morel, chanterelle and shiitake mushrooms and spruce nettle aromas. Driedblack cherry, dried strawberry marinated in plum brandy, insane depth laterally with a grilled watermelon and black plum advising raspberry to enter witness protection. Criminally delicious!#Champy #Burgundy #bourgogne #grandcru #corton #pinotnoir #redburgundy #redburg — 8 years ago
A fresh version of the grape. On the nose, chanterelle-tinged cherry and raspberry fruit. The palate is decidedly brighter, with cherry and marionberry fruit accented by a hint of spicy oak. — 9 years ago
Not quite as good with the chanterelle rissotto and rib eye roast as a Barolo but still very satisfying. Oak, spice, earth on the nose. Dark fruit, vanilla on the buds... — 10 years ago
32 years and going strong. Chanterelle and porcini with earth notes and crushed cherries and baked plum. Palate of dried blackberries and alluvial strolls, black currant and smoke. Cedar-cinnamon-tobacco triumvirate. Gloriously strong and hearty.

2016, so, young and wound up. Nose of live cypress, fresh dug hole along a wood, pine one, cherrywood, pressed raspberry; barely broken. Raisin rolls, chanterelle, rose stem. Rocky, with a silken red liquid rose petal moment that turned chewy round tannin and lush burst of plum. A solid nod to graphite immersed in raspberry tartness, red currant and slightest cinnamon and slighter peppercorn. Green in spots but there architecturally.

Delicate but not dainty, pretty, sexy with musky undertones. Perfumed. Black cherry, red currants, dried orange potpourri, clove, sassafras (in the alcohol), fruit leather, thyme. Barbaresco-esque, loads of dried florals and potpourri, high acid but not with the young Nebb astringency. Shroom and sous bois comes with last pour of course. Enjoyed with a 30-day aged ribeye and side of: chanterelle, shiitake mushrooms. Not your typical Suckling Brunello. — 6 years ago
perfect with chanterelle pasta. tks @Aravind Asok — 7 years ago
The '76 LGD was made in both this old style bottle and the current, rounder bottle. It still had plenty of life at 41, with a golden color, chanterelle aromas and a lively finish. It is amazing that this, the 2nd hottest vintage of the modern era has so much staying power! — 9 years ago
