Langhorne Creek, Fleurieu

Two Hands

Harry & Edward's Garden Langhorne Creek Shiraz 2005

Ming L
9.3

At 20 years of age, this shows graceful maturity. Aromas of dried plum, fig, cedar, and mocha unfold alongside leather and warm spice and hint of purple floral. The palate is supple and harmonious, with resolved tannins and a gentle acidic lift that keeps the wine poised. Savory hints of olive and earth add complexity. The smooth finish feels settled and complete.

A bottling from Langhorne Creek and one Two Hands no longer produces. Would be fun to taste all the Garden series bottling side by side.

The Maitre D Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Dark Ruby color with aromas of berry fruit with earthy spice tones. On the palate cherry and blackberry flavors with pepper spice, tobacco and cacao on fine dusty tannins. Medium+ finish, nice mouthfeel, ending with fruit and an oak mineral character. — 6 months ago

Hand Made Langhorne Creek Shiraz 2017

Very nice nose, deep flavours of chocolate and a little bit of raspberry go well together.
This is a big flavoured wine with both the acid and tannin to let it last much longer, and thus will cellar for more years.

Reserve Langhorne Creek Shiraz 2014

A complete delight to drink tonight. It has weight but it’s light on its feet, with enough brightness and acid to pair well with a steak and rich sauce yet soft enough tannins to sip on after dinner. Perhaps time will reveal more complexity, but I can’t deny the simple enjoyment of this one tonight. — 5 years ago
