Light to medium bodied Rosé all day. But this wine can definitely hold its own and did very well with a home cooked meal of fried chicken tenders. This wine actually needed a little bit of time as it was muted immediately upon cork pop and definitely benefited from warming up to near room temp. Light pink in the glass. Strawberry and stone ground raspberry. Finished with a little bit of herbal quality. A really nice wine for a 105 degree summer day, as I'm sure we will have many of them this year. I think this wine is as close to 93 as you can get, and the price for this wine made by a rather unappreciated winemaker makes this an insane QPR. — 5 years ago
Once again McKahn Family Cellars has produced a fantastic wine. Bouquet delivers a rich field of blooming lavendar. On first sip, the palate is overwhelmed with boysenberry, blackberry, and dark currant. Then comes a crunchy oaky pecan sensation. There’s black pepper and cigar box. Maybe a little vanilla extract in the background. The finish grips your tongue and gives it a little squeeze, reminiscent of fresh pine. It is very very dry and leaves me thirsting for more!!!!!! please visit McKahn Family Cellars and order this amazing wine you will not be disappointed!!!!!!!!!! — 4 years ago
**not the Black Tie*** This is the pre-release of the 100% petite sirah from Livermore. It’s a mellow 15.8% ha. Big inky wine. From casa de vinas vineyard on the eastern side of livermore which is owned by Julio Covarrubias (senior vineyard manager at wente). Some great wines coming out of this valley floor vineyard (mckahn, nottingham wineries). — 6 years ago
McKahn Family Cellars - 2019 Grenache - WOW! I love Grenache and this is definitely my new favorite!!! this is just about the perfect wine. The nose is blueberry pie fresh out of the oven. The initial palate is loaded with big ripe black and purple fruit and berries. This is so good and complex. Blackberry, boysenberry, plumb, ripe sweet juicy grapes fresh off the vine, and a hint of raspberry. Then comes the earthy tones of graphite and oak. There is a hint of chocolate and spice in the background. The finish is dry and absolutely no sourness anywhere. This is a true gem!!!!!
Fantastic job McKahn family! — 4 years ago

McKahn Family Cellars has a real gem with this Viognier, 2021. With a very nice low profile, grapefruit and lemon bouquet, this beautiful white wine tantalizes the tongue with Licorice and grapefruit. There is also a hint of green Apple in there. There is an oaky finish with a lingering tartness that drives you to take another sip. I’m not a real big white wine drinker, but for the hot summertime, this chilled on ice is a fantastic wine I highly recommend. — 3 years ago
