Syrah grown in Condrieu. An interesting reversal! — 8 years ago
Slight petrol on very dry switchgrass. Birchbark, paper myrtle, matchstick. Dried lemon, red apple and clove, orange pith, burnt kettle aromatics. Medium mouthfeel with lemon charge, pencil wood, madeleine, sweet grapefruit, cocktail lime and a slight persimmon and papaya reversal. Simultaneously crisp and heavy, but always lighter in retrospect. A genuine dichotomy. #cortona #toscana #italianwhite #sauvignonblancday #whitewinereset #whiteleather #bianco #donotrepeatthishashtagunlessyouwantvampirecurses #blanca #blanco — 9 years ago
New vintage release tasting at Vega Sicilia in Ribera del Duero. The 2015 Unico presented an elegant profile, while the 2020 Valbuena showcased a bolder character. Traditionally, Unico is known for its power and structure, whereas Valbuena tends to be the more refined and elegant wine. Staff assured me it is not a reversal in winemaking techniques but rather a juxtaposition of their respective vintages. — a year ago

The 2012 (opened in 2017) is pretty great, and does an interesting reversal of the norm by having rich black fruit up front and bright, zippy red fruit on the finish, with some mild and pleasant herbal notes too. — 9 years ago

A reversal of reduction and oak but no surprises on the power. - at Laurelhurst — a month ago
