No formal notes. This is the regular Estate Chardonnay behind the prestige cuvée Heytesbury. Citrus lime notes with an overlay of vanillin French oak, probably too much but it works. On the delicate side - an excellent Chardonnay for the money. Had a 2nd bottle 100 weeks later on 22/4/25. Very citric with pink grapefruit bitterness. Initial aromas of almonds and a little cashew. I’ve had a spate of Citric lean Chardonnays from Margaret River lately like this and Xanadu Stevens Road. April 2025. 91 points. — 3 years ago
Naked Wines. Enjoyable crisp Chenin Blanc that was very drinkable. — 5 years ago
2013, I love it — 7 years ago
This South African Bordeaux style blend is full-bodied and chewy. It is fruit forward, with black cherry and dark chocolate flavors. It has a bit of graphite to the dusty finish. — 8 years ago
Don't think I've had a south African wine, not bad at all! Was great with seafood... — 4 years ago
Tim would kill us for drinking this so late, but it's delicious! Fruity, malic, bright... with vanilla and nutmeg notes to mellow it out — 4 years ago

Happy Summer! Who wants a Spritzer!?
Wine only review -
Serious nose (not artificial foo foo) Mango, coconut, white sugar, deeper richer sugar note in the direction of brown sugar (?Candied Pecans?!), ethyl alcohol (18% abv)
Same fruit & sugar notes on the pallet, higher alcohol is noted in the finish.
Impression: Been curious, Dry, Clean profile, not the horrific big American corporate artificial “Glade Spray” I was expecting. I can rock it on its own, prefer it with a mixer (higher alc). Props! — 8 years ago
Very Hunter with earth, leather and red cherries, presented in a savoury manner. More full bodied on the palate than Hunter Valley Shiraz should be. In the mid 2000’s it was when Mount Pleasant was trying to emulate full bodied South Australian Shiraz instead of doing what they do best. This was most enjoyable but I still enjoy the old fashioned style made by Maurice O’Shea in the late 1940s and early 1950s in primitive conditions which were just medium bodied and very long lived. I once had a 1952 Mt Pleasant Stevens Vineyard made by the legend (birth year wine) which I bought at auction. It was over 40 years old when I consumed it. Barely medium bodied with amazing length and still kicking goals. A wonderful old curio and a privilege to drink. The “Maurice OShea” is the top Cuvée from Mt Pleasant these days. Had my last bottle of 2006 OP and OH on 10th July 2024. Becoming more Hunter Valley and earthy than South Australian as in the last note but still ripe and full bodied. Oak has diminished in influence. 93 points. — 4 years ago

Roast beef with the flat, nice rich and fruity. Will buy again. — 6 years ago
Blinded this with Dad, thought it was like powerful unoaked chard (shows how little semillon we drink), in great shape with good concentration and a litmus for the region. — 7 years ago
Peachy and a little tropical fruit but not too much. Dry but not astringent. Like a balance between a French and Australian SB. Lip-smacking. — 8 years ago
This is the Eric Stevens, excellent wine, feels thick and full on the palate, chocolate and mint, no sign of fruit cake notes, — 8 years ago
