What a lovely wine! The nose is a bit deceiving of what is coming upon the first sip and it just keeps getting better! Extremely smooth and the full flavors seem to be delayed and then just swell at the back of the throat and on the tongue. This is Tuscan wine that is truly “super Tucsan”! Really nice. Earthy, rich chocolate and cherry-herb nose with supple palate. Very closed and very young, but gives more immediate pleasure than any young Sassicaia I've tried and more sophisticated than Biserno. Plush and rounded with that plummy intensity of merlot. Hints of violet and mint. Underlying minerality. A real purity and intensity but not particularly subtle. Quite alcoholic with a whiff of burn on the finish. — 6 years ago
