Love this wine. Black fruit. Minty Low alcohol. This is a terrific wine — 10 years ago
Surprised me! Rich, chewy wine with a great nose. My only negative was the amount of tannin left behind on the finish. I wonder if a little more age would help? This is a huge Red. — 11 years ago
Nice solid red. Agree with other feedback about oaky taste — 11 years ago

"Accessible, fruity chardonnay with peach, nectarine. lime. citrus. vanilla bean, ginger and spicy oak flavours. Soft-textured, inviting wine with development potential" Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review
Hand selected fruit with 12 months maturation in new and one year old French oak, the wine is beautifully textured, full bodied with butterscotch and spicy oak flavours. Displaying mineral tones from the Terrior, this wine has a delightful and very long finish.
The opinion: very nice and worth every cent especially 3 years on. Lovely.

Nice and full bodied for a Grenache — 10 years ago
This is actually a really interesting wine, it's a supplier sample and I dare say we will be selling this very soon.
It's the 2013 Duke's Magpie Hill Reserve Sparkling Riesling, yes, Riesling. The nose is an initial burnt toast with a clear secondary of Maple Syrup, whaaat? The palate is acidic and very citrusy so it doesn't follow the nose, but I really like it. The finish is short, sharp and acidic, this would go so well as a refreshing finish to a Friday! 😜 — 11 years ago
From our Margaret River trip. — 12 years ago
Sticky, ripe sweetness that almost resembles a port. It’s textbook Aussie Shiraz, in fizzy form. A lot of vanilla on the nose, followed by an abundance of ripe cherry, chocolate and liquorice on the palate. Short finish, but tremendous fun. — 6 years ago
Racy intensity, velvety tannins, rich dark fruits, licks of vanilla and cinnamon #hawkesbay #merlot — 6 years ago
Blackberries, dark ripe cherries, anise, subtle oak, nicely balanced Bordeaux blend. — 8 years ago
Espresso flavor is strong enough it seems like it should feel gritty in my mouth. Strong blackberry flavor. A polarizing mead! Seems like people either love it or hate it, but nobody forgets it. — 9 years ago
Tasted in 2011 and 2013. This is evolving into a beautiful wine. The oak is quite forward on the nose but the rich dark fruits shine through on the palate with pepper and anise on the finish. Drinking very well now but good for another 3 to 4 years. — 10 years ago
Sapid, juicy, clear as a bell and delicious. Soft tannins , beautifully balanced. Some extra complexity and it would be perfect. — 10 years ago
Barossa Red. Exactly what you'd expect. — 11 years ago

Magpie Hill is the Reserve range from Dukes which is in the Porongurups, a sub district in the Great South of West Australia. The stony poor granitic soils giving concentrated wines. This producer possibly better known for its outstanding Rieslings has kicked a goal with this beautiful Shiraz. This has a very deep Ruby colour with a purple tinge. Smoky oak and mocha with ripe fruit - 14.5% ABV. Concentrated. Full bodied but not heavy- soft fine tannins. Made by the talented Rob Diletti who is their neighbour from his winery Castle Rock. Great value. — 7 months ago
