Full body, bold yet silky feel, plum, with spice notes — 2 years ago
Amazing simply amazing. Soft gent fruit forward with a very smooth sweetish finish. Lots of fruit and depth. Amazing with cheese and salumi. — 7 years ago
This wine will be called dessert tonight. An unreal nose of Tart cherries, raspberries and baking spices. On the palate this is like grandmas sugar cookies, a cherry Tart, and maybe a little nutmeg. Very high ABV is nicely offset by nice acidity. A great ending to an Italian feast in NYC. Will need to hit the gym in the morning. — 10 years ago
Olhaí, @Marlos Silva @Marcio Morelli @Andre Rodrigues ! — 11 years ago

Still one of my favorite Amarone producers of all time. Unfortunately the world seems to agree, and where I paid £50 a bottle 15 years ago, it now costs $52 a glass (albeit in Vegas). Check out the abv - 17%! You can tell on the nose, but the palate wins — 2 years ago

Fabulous Vanilla essence - so good. At Next - Alinea. — 8 years ago
2011 vintage. At Lima. Giovanni Rosso's first vintage of the classic cru, Vigna Rionda. Medium ruby - lovely shiny wine. On the nose, closed at first - due to its youth - but with air, spectacular. Minty herb, liquorice, sour black cherry, smoke, violets and tar. Very complex. On the palate, silky smooth - high tannin but ripe and luscious. Medium plus alcohol. Full concentration and high acidity. Deep flavours here. This is going to be a blockbuster of a wine with a long future. Spectacular Barolo. Drink 2023-2043 (although, to be fair, drinks really well now). — 10 years ago
Nice bottle for a bbq with friends

This wine is so hard to rate. You either love or hate it. It’s almost a dessert wine with the sweetness it displays right from the bottle.
Early on, it had some depth and tannin to balance the sweetness and provide for some cherry and good fruit.
As it decanted and sat, it seemed to get sweeter as tannins faded.
This wine needed strong cheese to really balance it.
It was the favorite for some but then avoided by others. You have to really enjoy the sweetness without sugar. — 8 months ago
2007. Brought it home from Mendoza. Well aged, smooth, and ready to drink. Some red fruit and few tannins. Malbec has balanced out a lot over the years — 7 years ago
