My 2000th archive on @Delectable Wine !

This port was a huge surprise, in a great way. Plush and dense blue fruit, with purple color staining the glass. Reminiscent of a WA Syrah, with sweetness.

This wine has many years of aging potential, yet drinks beautifully today. 🍷

Kleur: Goudgele tinten met een fijne, aanhoudende mousse.

Neus: Intense aroma’s van rijp fruit zoals appels, ananas en limoen, aangevuld met tonen van romige custard en een hint van gedroogde abrikozen.

Smaak: Een perfect gebalanceerd palet met nuances van gedroogd fruit, waaronder abrikoos en limoen, gecombineerd met een nootachtige ondertoon en een boterachtige textuur die doet denken aan bladerdeeg.

Afdronk: Elegant en vol, met een aanhoudende frisheid die de complexiteit van de champagne benadrukt.

Deze champagne bestaat uit een blend van 50% Chardonnay en 50% Pinot Noir, afkomstig van Premier en Grand Cru wijngaarden. De dosage bedraagt 5,2 g/l.

Bold and fruity wine, lots of jammy dark fruit. Aroma is a little lighter version of the taste with some dark fruit but a hint of alcohol. Port barrels definitely imparted a lot of character. Would drink again, Kristyn says,"it's fine." — 3 years ago

I am preparing for a trip Portugal in a week so I am drinking Portuguese wines this week. This was a surprise find for me. It is the best red from Douro region that I have had. It was a 2016 closeout for $5.99. I am going to get more tomorrow. — 2 years ago
