Undoubtedly, this wine was better 3-5 years ago. Aging has not been especially kind to it and it reflects in the thin, somewhat harsh palette of a wine that has lost its legs literally and figuratively. Gattinara is usually one of my favorite wines and have consumed my share over the years so know what to expect and this ain’t it.
