vintage 2016 | 80% nebbiolo, 15% vespolina, 5% croatina. Ten years old and fully alive and kicking. Brownish colour, tertiairy tones in smell. Very good balance, integrated tannines. I loved the bouquet: stinky in the positive way, spices, stewed fruit. A hint of manure. A Piëmonte nebbiolo that I like. Paired with a lasagne. — 2 months ago
Along with Gattinara, Bramaterra provides a great alternative to way more expensive nebbiolo wines from Barolo and Barbaresco. — 9 months ago
A very elegant wine - attenuated nose of plum/cherry. Palate is more of the same but rather mineral and filtered quite elegantly through a tannic structure buttressed by just enough acidity. The structure really shines. Long finish & miles to go. A lovely wine from @Lyle Fass 😍 — 4 years ago

Deep Ruby color with a aromas of red fruit, earthy herbs, cedar and floral notes. On the palate flavors of tart cherry and raspberry with notes of herb pepper, floral and earthy notes. Medium+ finish, good balance with fine tannins ending with cacao, leather, fruit and earthy notes. Ok now but a few more years will benefit. — 22 days ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2021 pours a bright garnet color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with fabulous notes of wild raspberries, Morello cherry, freshly cut roses, cedar chest, orange zest, alpine herbs and rocky earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. This is really beautiful stuff. The nose alone positively slays. Drink now through 2041. Thanks for the assist @Lyle Fass — a month ago
Moores 2024. $25. Still the greatest. — 4 months ago
Incredible bouquet but took a long time to open up and for the mineral and acid to mellow. Smooth and gentle when it finally did. Would only go for cellared bottles. — 6 months ago
The 2020 Gattinara is elegant and lifted. Crushed red berry fruit, cinnamon and orange peel grace this ethereal, nuanced Gattinara. Bright saline notes and sweet red-toned fruit build into the long, persistent finish. Understated and silky, the 2020 is exquisite. All this needs is a few years to soften. Nose is very welcoming. Hints of tobacco. Roasted plum. Plum skin.
Palate is sweet plum. Cherry. Delicious. Really sweet fruit. Chocolate. Good acidic balance
Very sexy texture. Really caresses the palate. Clings in a gentle but persistent way. Almost sensual.

Distinctly Piedmontese but unique. Great acid, soft tannins and approachable. — 10 months ago
