Still more in the youthful side of life. Herbs, black cherry, hint of vanilla, smoke, little bit of a cedar thing going on. Velvety mouthfeel. Fine tannins, lingering finish. Probably could have benefited from a good decant. Still changing almost two hours in.

Lovely aromas of sour cherries, raspberries, licorice, roasted meats, earthy undertones, old leather, iron shavings, and sweet spices. Clean and focused on the palate with bright red fruit, orange peel, refreshing acidity, and a long silky finish dominated by spices and a touch of creaminess.

Wow. A classical vintage more akin to Ribero del Duero, less masculine than many Riojas. Nice fruit forward with long finish
