From a good looking bottle with a high fill. Very light color, thin and translucent amber. Nose of a soft light Madeira. This wasn’t dead but was certainly way past it’s prime. (Bday dinner 12/13)

It's not everyday you try a wine made during WWII. The wine had a slight Sherry note but otherwise held together. I don't have a lot of reference to compare it to but it was quite a treat.
