A big and opulent Grenache based wine. Medium ruby color with a thin pink meniscus. Aromas of ripe red fruit, dusty earth, smoky oak and exotic spices. Flavors of raspberry, red plum and ripe strawberries, red and black licorice, orange zest and a bit of vanilla. Hint of minerality on the long and bright finish. Smooth tannins and vibrant acidity. Full bodied and lively. Well structured and bold. Excellent Côtes du Rhône-Villages.

I’ve been getting more and more into French wines lately, and this wonderful Côtes du Rhône has been one of my favorites thus far. It has a surprising body to it, really sticks to the mouth, and is packed with lovely, earthy flavors. I picked up on notes of leather and mushroom; this 2018 blend is well worth the $25 price tag.
