Beer night started with this. A beer I'm familiar with but have never asked questions about. So here goes: What is a saison anyway? So it's a pale ale - where does it fit in the category? And what's the difference between this black label and the checkered yellow one?
Anyway, it's a nice refreshing beer on this hot night. Fruity (pears and citrus comes to mind), spicy (white pepper and clove), grassy, with a nice touch of zestiness. Would drink this anyday... a sort of wine drinker's beer... though never over sour beer, sake, or wine for me (in order of ascending preference 😉)
