Capanna
Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese
Montalcino, Siena, Tuscany, Italy
Big wine that was a bit hard when I first opened, so I left it open for 2 days...still firm but much more of a complete, fresh acid, nice dark fruits, fuller body

This is really terrific. Full bodied, lots of dark cherry fruit, smooth tannins, and a velvety finish. Surprisingly, almost no sediment at age 12.

Mar 31st, 2018This was supposed to be a phenomenal wine when it was released, but does not overly impress 10 years on. Nice, solid brunello but pales in comparison to this winery's 2004 and 1998 riserva brunellos.

Deep flavors. Nose came around after a bit. It's going with my homemade San Marzano lasagna.
