Château Brane-Cantenac
Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend
Margaux, Médoc, Bordeaux, France

1928. Hands down and hands up my favorite of all 48 wines tonight. Second growth Margaux. This was beautiful. 90 years old.

I was worried as although label, cork, color all in good shape but near 90 year old wine...who knows although great vintage. But wow...almost indescribable taste, mouth feel and lingering haunting bouquet that lasted over 1.5 hours after opening. Very soft tannins, still red fruit core and excellent length! At Meadowood dinner.

Drank this wine last night at The Restaurant at Meadowood! Martin the Somm pulled the cork out in one piece and mid-high shoulder filled bottle just poured its heart out and didn't stop until caramel flavors left in empty glasses. Color like dark reddish Sherry/Madeira and nose of Asian spices like Cassis, smoky leather, and dried dark fruits. Acid was long and tannins so refined that belies it's 86 year age. Held up from opening for over an hour...GREAT bottle!
