Margaux Second Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend

This is a very well made wine drinking at its peak right now. It still has lovely primary aromas and flavors of cassis, black cherry and cedar but is now showing more tertiary notes of dried violet, forest floor, leather, mushroom and tobacco. Good balance of fruity with acidity, velvety medium tannin and full body framed by 13.5%abv. Very satisfying with beef tenderloin.

67% Cab Sauvignon, 25% merlot and 8% Cab Franc. Twenty-two months in barrel, 45% new.

Chocolate and tobacco on the nose. Full bodied. Needed an hour to open up

Decanted for 3 hours. Opened beautiful with deep cherry & leather flavors. This is an underrated Bordeaux in my opinion.

Still youthful, lively fruit and refined tannins. Really enjoyable glass of wine.

Night cap. Wonderful restrained flavors. The plum and cassis is balanced with good acid and still firm tannins. Nice wine from an estate that is looking improve the quality of its wines.

Leather, over ripe plum, beef jerky, super juicy, age worthy. Beautiful wine.

Margaux elegance and finesse with beautifully pure fruit with judicious use of oak. Liked it a lot!
