Weekly Wednesday Wine Committee and this was a special treat as not only was Weston from Montagu Wines in attendance, but Jason Moore, owner and winemaker for Modus Operandi Wines out of Napa. Blind format as always. 1 sparkler, 3 whites, 4 reds and 1 dessert.

WOW! What a showing! Most of the room guessed Napa Cab. Can’t believe this is Bordeaux. Nose had a lot of sweet fruit and oak on it. Blue and black fruit but in no way jammy. Great mineral focus. The perfect marriage of Napa and Bordeaux.

Going back in time for this one. Let it sit a little and it opened right up.

Still young, can use more cellar time. Deep, dark, inky, rich, complex, delicious. Opens up beautifully over a few hours. Probably needs another 5-7 years.
