2009 vintage. Cuvée Pierre du Château Liouner is only produced in certain vintages (2001, 2003, 2005 with 2009 the last mentioned on their website) and it is very peculiar since it contains between 70 and 90% of Petit Verdot. It is aged in 100% new oak that is surprisingly well-integrated. Production around 6000 bottles. While I am not convinced that a 100% new oak is the best decision, it is a very good wine with enough fruit concentration to support the wood. It should age effortlessly for at least 10 more years.
