2023 vintage. Lo Sang del Païs, Marcillac. 100% Mansois (aka Fer Servadou or Braucol). Spicy and fresh. Good value. Abc. 13%. — 7 days ago
2015 vintage. I last tasted this 2 years ago, and today it is fully mature, the tannins have softened, and the wine has gained in complexity and elegance. But I don't see this getting any better,so drink asap. Moreover,it sells for a song. From the owners of famous Saint- Julien Léoville Barton ( that is still reasonably priced, check the incredible 2022 Léoville Barton!). — 20 days ago
2015 vintage. Philippe Herbouet ( Château Clos du Roy) bought this estate in 2000 and replanted in 2001 and 2003. Mainly Merlot (85%) with Cabernet Sauvignon. Around 40000 bottles are produced on 20 hectares of vines. More sandy soils compared to Clos du Roy, producing wines that are a bit lighter,to be enjoyed younger. But as this 2015 ( an exceptional vintage on the right bank) proves, they are also age worthy. Fully mature, and a lot of pleasure for very little money. A little heat from the alcohol (Abv. 14%) in the finish, but no complaints at this price. — 18 hours ago
2022 vintage. 100% Grenache Noir. I have been enjoying these wines over the last decade, and this might be my favourite up to now. Beautiful nose with raspberries, cherries, and the most subtle spices. In the mouth it offers concentrated layers of fruit and spices, and the silkiest tannins I have ever tasted in this wine. Seriously long finish with retronasal raspberries and a dash of black pepper. The typical high Grenache alcohol (15% abv.) is perfectly integrated. — 6 days ago
2024 vintage. Le Roc Blanc. As there is still no official Fronton appellation for white wines, this is sold as Vin de France. A blend of Chardonnay, Sémillon, Viognier and a bit of Muscadelle. Curiously, the Viognier seems to dominate the nose, while it represents only 20% of the blend. It definitely has the round mouthfeel of Chardonnay and Sémillon. Not particularly complex, but very good value. Abv. 13%. — 4 days ago
2020 vintage. This is one of the most expensive wines at Le Roc, but unfortunately this Syrah is undrinkable ( at least this bottle). Extremely chemical, green and vegetal in nose and mouth. No idea what happened here, I hope it's just this bottle. — 5 days ago
2022 vintage. Grand B, from the estate that was the first to relaunch the Bouysselet grape. I was hoping this would shine a more conclusive light on the grape variety, but unfortunately this wasn't the case. It has the yellow, light golden colour in common with the Domaine Le Roc, but this one is overly acidic. Disappointing. Abv. 12,5%. — 7 days ago

2019 vintage. From the owners of the excellent Moncets and Chambrun estates in Lalande-de-Pomerol. Just one hectare of 100% Merlot in the Montagne Saint-emilion appellation ( at 750 meters from Cheval Blanc as they state on the website). Don't expect Cheval Blanc quality though, but it's also 50 times less expensive. Anyway, this is a great value. Attractive nose with cherries and violets. Medium-bodied, well balanced, with ripe cherry fruit, spices, and more than decent length. Hard to believe how cheap this is. Contrary to common belief, Bordeaux features some of the best values in the world. Abv. 13,5%. — 17 hours ago
