Domaine Billaud-Simon
Montée de Tonnerre Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay
Chablis, Burgundy, France
Producer I have wanted to try for sometime. Solid, classic, mineral driven and long. Great expression of Montee de Tonnerre.

There is something about the passage of time that is difficult to replace! Dom. Billaud-Simon Chablis helping define the controversial term minerality! Great linearity, juicy acid,a core of fruit that shows all the hallmarks of an intimate knowledge of site & careful elevage/maturation pre-bottling! #FilthyGoodVino

A delightful Chablis. Easy to drink, and not overly complicated.

Apr 9th, 2016Pronounced fresh lemon, green apple, mineral and white floral notes on the nose. Rich, oily, texture with electric acid. Well balanced and will only get better with age.

Sep 25th, 2013Green but with significant "gras." Lemon and cream. Lemon custard.Opened to express its minerality more. Lemongrass towards the end. A very fine pairing with the chèvre, just like Sancerre would be. I guess it really is that kimmeridgian element that makes it.
