Domaine de la Solitude
Châteauneuf-du-Pape White Rhone Blend
Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Southern Rhône, Rhône, France
Pours a golden yellow with some viscosity. Aromas of bruised yellow apple, pear, apple tart, honeysuckle, chamomile, vanilla. On the palate, it is fresh and vibrant for a southern Rhône white. There is a mouth coating texture, with flavors of ripe orchard fruits, mango, pineapple, crème brûlée. There is good restraint here at 13.5 abv, and good acidity. I think that it is pretty harmonious now and would drink within 1-3 years, however the acidity might allow longer aging. Good stuff.
