Viscous and glass-clingy, color is deep purple (!); ripe blue plums, red cherries, and blueberries, minerality, lavender, and somber oak notes; rich and structured with high alc (15%) and acids but softer tannins, very fruity like plumjuice, mouthfilling but very dry and short on the finish. These half-bottles should no doubt rest longer, but they don’t last long in my cellar.

CNDP 2017 Magnum. Different format bottle and was very good. Definitely a wine that needs time to breathe. Became much much better after being open 30 to 45 minutes. Nose: dark fruit, menthol? Taste: plum, cherry, high acidity.

2017 Domaine du Vieux Lazaret 'Cuvée Exceptionnelle' Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Rhône valley GSM. Deep ruby color, red fruits, dark fruits, and even blueberry. Tannins start quite acidic, but soften over time. Warm spices come out after about 30 mins.

Rich stewed fruits and tart cherry and a touch of dark soil on the nose. It’s almost enough just to smell it. Then the cool intense dark fruit and rich mouth feel is like a balm, a warm ocean wave. A verdant fertile field of post ripe fruits. #heaven
