Domaine Fourrier
Clos St. Jacques Vieilles Vignes Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Pinot Noir
Gevrey-Chambertin, Côte de Nuits, Burgundy, France
Tart candied cherry fruit, raspberry, spice and clove. Was really good and initially showed some of the herbal taste associated with 2004, but shed the greeness and developed beautifully.

Light, tart red fruit with red clay and light floral notes. Showing very nicely.

Alas, this bottle presented itself not in an optimal condition. Seems tired and more mature than anticipated.
Very dark and brooding.. chocolate, coffee, cloves, cigars.
Still a good wine, but was probably better a few years ago.

A lovely bright nose, floral, raspberry, underbrush. Lifted and gorgeous classic Gevrey. A touch of smoke. No green stalkiness. On the palate, lovely, lush dark fruit. Very poised. Long and fresh with great persistence. Delicious now. I'd guess has years ahead

Apr 4th, 20162004. Terroir-driven wines like this one are about getting to know the vineyards and producers year in and year out, from great vintages to "off" vintages, like this one.
