Perfectly balanced. Tart, spicy cherry fruit, fresh vanilla bean, and a touch of mushroom on the finish. (EDIT: Having another bottle whilst my palate wasn't so destroyed, it became more obvious how heavy this wine is on the new French oak, which actually throws off the balance a bit.)
