Chave does not suck and this vintage is no different. The wine was rich and powerful but after airating the wine for a few minutes the wine opened and revealed great depth and that wonderful purity that this region is known for. The granite soils certainly influence this effort and I for one am glad chave exists.

May 7th, 2016The 87 for me has always been undervalued. An amazing effort and wine of the vintage This wine is straight up crazy. On an island without your spouse or at your last meal choose this wine. It is about as pure an expression of Syrah as it gets. There is a reason Syrah is noble.
