Hermitage Syrah

Really floral and fleshy on the nose. Cherry, rose, inkiness… great stuff. Medium bodied alongside the 1990 but pretty and defined. Excellent

Easily the classiest of the three late-90’s Hermitage selections in this flight and there really isn’t much more to say. The Chave just hits different. Plenty of life and enjoyment left in these.

Ooooh. A savory and complex nose. Blood, licorice, sexy deep fruit. Some fine tannin and a beautifully cold blooded and supple mid palate. Great intensity of fruit with hints of leather and tobacco and leather. Really good stuff.

This is truly lovely. Deep sexy blue fruit, loads of herbs and saline gnarly fruit. Really complex, sweet notes and long. Very, very good.

Just fantastic. Blackberries, meats, leather. Wonderful finish.

Deep blue and red fruit on the nose. Sour cherry and intense blueberry. Still quite primary, dome leather and a savory bloodiness. Beautifully balanced and young. Decades ahead.

An expressive wine, dense mature, with character, aged but still firms tannins with great spicy - I really love the wines from this estate

A wealth of flavors and thought here. Finish sailed on. The mix of fruit and secondary savory flavors plus the lift and lengthy finish just hits the spot.

Decanted and left for 60 min. Still pretty dense and tight, but great Purity and structure. Try again in 7-10?
