Evolving beautifully. Floral, with crushed red berries, mineral notes, and baking spices. Medium bodied, with a long, clean finish.

Monopole - Quite tannic.
Has another 5+ years of life ahead of it. Cherry, raspberry - really incredibly tannic! Try again in 2030? Mulberry (yep have a tree so i can compare). Perhaps cranberry - but really nothing along the line „holy shit“ never had this before, Yes an iconic wine - but that does mean i will give it high points just because of the pedigree and 300$ for these is steep!

Light color. Nice and elegnt nose of red fruits, soft apices and grapefruit. The palate is medium bodied with still a good structure but in the background it seems, my only caveat is the fruit that seems lacking ripeness slightly at times given probably the vintage, but overall always a great classy bottle.

2008 is a poor vintage but this wine is very well made and new vintages are way too expensive ☹️. Dark berries and cassis. Quite acidic lacks interest at this price point. The rating is low as the $$$ have to be taken into consideration. An just OK wine for the money.

17. A bit disappointing for one of the greatest Volnays. I had expected more length and complexity.

More approachable than 08 Clos des Chenes. surprisingly drinkable for young Lafarge. So pretty, so good!
