The nose was overwhelmingly oaky and not very encouraging but thankfully drinks much better than that. Still too much oak but good complexity, with rich dark fruits, tobacco, black pepper. Seems inspired by Argentine reds, perhaps too much, but for a domestic Ecuadorian wine it shows promise.
