2018 vintage. A blend of Merlot (65%), Cabernet Franc (20%), and Cabernet Sauvignon from diverse vineyards in Saint-Emilion and Côtes de Castillon owned by the Perse family. Aged for 15 months in used barrels from Pavie and Monbousquet. A solid, bold wine, ready to drink, with good fruit and some of the chalkiness that I associate with Castillon. Abv. 14,5%.

Very drinkable Bordeaux from Gironde. Nothing spectacular, but a good representation of the bank!

Intense ruby red color with very strong aromas of comte cheese, clay, and black fruits on the nose. Full-bodied coupled with astringent flavors of blackcurrant, mulberry, and soft peppery spice on the palate. Firm texture, rough mouthfeel, solid but not smooth tannins, a bit high acidity, and reasonable length on the finish.
