Much more like a cool climate Syrah (think Washington or Ziereisen).
It does mellow over time but the tannic frame is still impressive. Juicy and well crafted, but very present.
Black fruit on the forefront, with some undergrowth and a healthy pinch of baking spice, some sweet cherry emerging with time. Quite enticing on the nose. And with zippy, juicy acidity on the palate - paired with the tannins, this makes it really interesting for a Californian.
A quite nice one!
