A very nice, very Burgundian Chardonnay from cool Hemmel en Aarde.
Cool & enticing, with ripe lemon & lime, shortbread, white flowers, a touch of nutmeg, a hint of anise.
On the palate this is poised & very elegant. Good breadth (40% new barrels) but also great depth & focus. Layers of ripe yellow fruit & juicy, vibrant acidity plus a nice salty touch on the long finish.
Very close to Cote Challonais in style, a truly lovely wine. — a month ago
A (very) modern approach to Rioja… so modern it’s closer to Ribeira or Languedoc.
Rich & fruit forward, yet still retaining some elegance and juiciness (and containing alc levels).
Not bad, but not really brilliant either. — 2 months ago
Extraordinary for a Beaujolais Villages.
Brilliant nose with pure cherry & red fruit. And chalky, stony minerality. Fresh & pure!
Impressive concentration on the palate while maintaining the purity of fruit. Juicy, fresh, clean as a whistle. With very fine, velvety tannins and impeccable balance. Great length & precision. Beautiful!
This is a stunner!! — 3 months ago
A very Burgundian Champagne, full of ripe yellow fruit, ripe apple, butterscotch. Either breadth & depth, balancing the ripeness & creaminess with zesty acidity and spicy minerality. Good depth & very fine mousse with lingering tiny bubbles.
More a wine than a bubbly, and a very fine & elegant one, too. — a month ago
Nicely aromatic & restrained (for Australia) with purity of dark fruit (blackberries, plums, mulberry), nice depth and excellent tannins quality - juicy, polished, finely grained.
Very elegant & with beautiful balance between the ripeness & savoury notes.
A really lovely wine! — a month ago
O wow. I never expected this elegance & depth in a wine from Rome.
Like a v. good Nebbiolo with a touch of southern flair.
Beautiful purity of dark cherry fruit with a touch of southern warmth. Pomegranate? Blood orange? A hint of wilted flowers and some dried herbs. After some time a bit of baked plum and a pinch of spices.
Fine & very enticing. With some warmth yet fresh.
On the palate, this has lightness. No rusticity at all - the finesse & quality of tannins is very Roagna’esque. Beautiful acidity and great depth. Seamless & highly drinkable. What a delight! — 2 months ago
What a perfect epitome of juicy freshness!
Dark, sour cherry galore with a touch of mulberry and a hint of (dried) orange peel. A flowery whiff adds complexity. Much better on day 2 when the bubble gum fruitiness blows away.
On the palate this is light to medium bodied, with a nice (light) tannin structure and juicy acidity. Pure & perfectly balanced.
Not overly complex. Just joyful, bright & juicy.
Perfect with a bowl of pasta or antipasti. — a month ago
This is very elegant & harmonious.
Dark sour cherry with some crushed stone and a pinch of orange peel & herbs. Fresh. Juicy.
On the palate this is very smooth, juicy, with great flow and beautiful balance. The 14.5% alc perfectly integrated.
Nice depth & length, too. — 2 months ago
So youthful & joyful. Upon opening very fruit forward, after some time it settles down and start showing more sophistication.
White peach & ripe lemons, with a touch of cool minerality. So clean & enticing.
On the palate this shows amazing purity. Juicy (lemons!) worth electric tension between the fruit and the juicy acidity. Starts off a bit broad but then shows brilliant focus and great depth. And the finish that just doesn’t stop - precise, mineral, salty, juicy.
This is a brilliant wine - I’m curious to see how this develops once it sheds the youthful fruit. — 2 months ago

Surprisingly austere & lean for 2018, with the earthy aromas dominant. There is some cherry but well hidden.
Love the tannin structure & juicy acidity, but where’s the body & fruit?
