Fennel, pot pourri, dried red cherry and tea with a slight balsamic quality. A little Brett, but in a charming way. Definitely on the decline. I would love to have tasted this a decade or more ago. The 2001 is probably the best Italian wine I have ever tasted.

Just beautiful drinking, still fresh, complicated. A bottle to spend an evening with.

Beautiful redfruit and floral aromas and flavors, faint road tar, actually still quite youthful in its flavor and structure, super long, lingering finish, incredible for a 43-year-old non-Cru Barbaresco!!

Cork broke in half during extraction, initially some cardboard aromas, but lovely fruit underneath, medium-long finish and great balance/depth, I’ll update as it sits open.
