Quite the monstrous beauty, savory and broad, but with fine, chalky tannins which are amazingly well knit into a richly complex array of fruit, florals and earthen elements. I’ve had this bottling a few years back, which I recalled as a beast, while this time, it has no doubt hit its stride.

Magnum 1997 Giacomo Monfortino Nebbiolo. Pre-bday dinner at P. Drank beautifully. Especially after the corked bottle of RSV we opened just prior. Decanted for a good hour before pouring. Awesome.
