Superb warm cherry. Delicious — a month ago
Whoa, a bargain baby. Although it shows some edges, time will tell how they resolve. A touch of VA on the nose took a sec to blow off, then it screamed of red fruit and smoldering tar. The tar thankfully went from smoldering to sparking off here and there, but then the earth, wow, this is earthy, but still, the fruit dominates. The palate nails the Nebbiolo high amounts of everything (acid, alcohol, tannins structure). But the tannins play fairly, a highlight accessory, not a scene stealer. The tannic grip hangs on but in tandem with fruit and soil into which rose petals may have fallen last spring. I can’t believe the price on this bebe. — 4 months ago
Great depth and robust flavor. — a month ago
Light bodied slightly frizzante - well balanced, fruit, spice, slight tang. Really nice! Leith got at The Wine Store! Would love to get again — a month ago
2021 vintage. A bit of everything. Esteemed producer. Excellent nose. Front-palate richness. Mid-palate power and presence. Pleasantly astringent and beyond substantial finish. I usually eschew Barbera d'Alba for the resto list but couldn't deny this one. Picked up two cases and may pick up more to have laying around for 1.5-2 years. At the ridiculous resto price of $26.67, I can't afford not to. So delicious. 01.29.25. — 3 months ago
The nose is textbook nebbiolo with cherry, sour cherry, tar, almond, hay, tobacco leaves, black tea and roasted pork shoulder juice 😀. The palate is rather big and bold with a strong acid drive, a dry palate through and through, some impressive width, cherry, tea and that savoury note reminiscent of the pork shoulder juice note I found on the nose. The mouthfeel is first soft and nice, with almost a sweeter touch, before a great tannic walls comes and disrupts the entire feel and triggers a rather long finish with tea, cherry, tobacco touches and again that savoury pork note. It's a lovely, not so complex nebbiolo but really well made and offering pleasure by itself or alongside dinner (we had it along chicken gizzard stew and it worked super well). — a month ago
2019 vintage. Last tasted 4.3.24 (9.3) and 10.18.23 (9.3). PNP. Light medium-medium body. In a great spot already with some of the overtly, machismo dryness in previous visits now double-live gonzo. Big camphor/eucalyptus, cola nut, tree bark, semi-ripe cherry, rhubarb. Tannins not far from the proceedings. Maybe, just maybe, gets to 9.4 status in a few years. Seems to have enuff stuff(ing) to handle a 10-15 years hibernation period should you so desire. 03.16.25. — a month ago
